NEW YEAR: NEW THEME

New Year’s Eve is probably one of my favorite holidays. Whether it’s spent in fancy clothes or comfy pajamas, whether we’re drinking champagne with friends or making smores at home in the microwave, the year still comes to an end…and a beautiful new one begins.

If we’re lucky, we will have 365 more chances to live our dreams.

The new year gives us the opportunity to reflect…to release old thoughts, to let go of self-limiting beliefs, and to forgive old hurts. The new year also brings fresh beginnings, exciting new experiences, and the promise of new connections.

NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS

Last year LH and I decided to skip the new year’s resolutions. Instead, we came up with a theme for the year: FUN!

We promised to spend our year in fun mode…we traveled as much as possible, we chose adventure over routine, and we celebrated our lives.

Choosing goals together that enriched our lives kinda took the pressure off the first year of marriage…and it brought us closer together.

In fact, it worked so well, LH and I have decided to stick with our new-found tradition of choosing a theme for the year.

For 2017, we are going to stick with the theme of FUN…and add in a little FOCUS.

FUN + FOCUS = 2017!

CELEBRATION

In true Hayes style, we had to end 2016 in FUN mode! However, this year we decided to skip the stress of the city and celebrate New Year’s Eve in the ‘burbs! #thisisthirty

First stop was downtown Plano, and then we headed to our favorite local restaurant Seabreeze Fish Market & Grill.

Thanks to Mercedes-Benz of McKinney, we kicked off the year in style.

YOUR THEME

Choosing a theme for the year is an easy way to filter our experiences and stay true to the life we want to live.

Join us in choosing a theme for the year that enriches your life.

What will yours be?

Grateful for the past and looking forward to the promise of the future.

Happy New Year!

Love the idea of a theme for the new year. My theme? I think More sums how I would like to spend 2017. More: fun, creating, love, road trips, sunsets, focus, quiet time, etc.

    Happy New Year!

Love love love the pictures! Stunning!!!!! And I’d have to agree with the theme focus for the year. We started ours with “bucket list dates” …. I’ll have to keep an eye on your blog for some great new ideas. Looking forward to it! Happy new year!

I love this! We’ve never done New Year’s Resolutions, which sometimes feels lazy – but we do touch base each month about goals and re-group when we need to. A theme is a nicer package, though, so maybe we’ll copy you and do it! How about “Visit Texas” as a theme??
