Vacation Vibes: Secrets Playa Mujeres

We’ve been home from Mexico for a couple days, and I’m already missing the ocean breeze, the quiet mornings, the amazing weather, the gorgeous views, and most of all…those chill vacation vibes.

When we booked our stay at Secrets Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort, we were in need of some serious rest and relaxation!

Normally, we aren’t “all-inclusive resort” people. We prefer more adventurous, off-the-beaten-path, cultural-emersion experiences.  However, the past few months have been pretty mentally and emotionally exhausting….so we agreed an easy, calm, no-planning-necessary vacay was needed.

We made the perfect choice!

Here is a sneak peek inside our week.

The mornings were peaceful, quiet, and soooo good:

There’s something about these white stucco buildings and the rugged landscaping that I find so beautiful.

I was almost more inspired by these things than I was by the ocean view…almost. 😉

When you think “all-inclusive resort”, do you picture beautiful plant life, unique flowers, and different types of wild life? I don’t!

We were surprised and so excited to have access to the Ecological Conservation Area that runs along the beach.

We spent some of our mornings and afternoons just enjoying nature within the buttonwood mangrove…until we were drenched in sweat and nearing heat stroke! Haha

The resort hosted several afternoon events that weren’t really up our alley, but we’re glad we took a chance on this one.

The Mexican fiesta was a blast. Was it super authentic? Who knows…probably not. But the music was loud, the food was good, and the dancers definitely kept us entertained!

Totally obsessed with these mangos on a stick. So good!

Out of all the places we ate while we were on vacation (and we ate A LOT!), my favorite was a little gem called Oceana. This adorable restaurant has spectacular ocean views, yummy seafood, and a super unique menu.

The service at the resort was some of the best service we have ever received! Shout out to our new pals Israel and Frankie!

Israel made me the most amazing, refreshing drink every day that he simply called “the spicy cucumber”. I have no idea what was in it, but it was amazing! And Frankie was such a ray of sunshine! We love you guys!

The sun has officially set on our trip to Mexico, and secretly I’m already planning our next trip abroad.

What are some of your fav vacation spots? I’d love to hear from you!

P.S. I’d rate this resort a 6 out of 10! 🙂
