Indie Beauty Expo Dallas

Last month I was invited to the Indie Beauty Expo Dallas private press event and Shop Indie event. As a true beauty junkie, I jumped at the opportunity!

Indie Beauty Expo’s mission is to provide a platform to recognize, showcase, and celebrate Independent Beauty, Wellness, and Lifestyle brands. It was founded to support the growth and success of indie brands and the entrepreneurs behind them.

If you’ve followed this blog for awhile, you know I absolutely love supporting indie businesses and shopping small. Why? Every time you purchase a product or a service from an indie company, you are supporting someone’s dream.

I was lucky to receive a bag filled with the products showcased at IBE. Out of all the skincare, color, and fragrance brands I tried, I actually found some new favs….which is a big deal, because ya’ll know I’m a picky Patty!

If you’d like to learn more about my new indie beauty finds, keep reading.

1. LIPS: WINKY LUX

I can’t believe I didn’t know about Winky Lux before, but now that I do, I want to try every. single. product. Winky Lux is known for being a cruelty-free and non-toxic cosmetic company that makes unique products at a price that’s nice. These lippies are just the beginning of my new obsession with Winky Lux. They have highlighters and blush and eye shadow pallets….eek! You’ll be seeing much more of this brand on my blog and Instagram in the future.

2. SKINCARE:  RYOR, PURLISSE, LIVE BOTANICAL, SEOUL MAMAS

I am loving the Ryor Soothing Serum for Enlarged Pores. I’ve been using it in my t-zone, and I am actually seeing texture improvement!

The Purlisse Blue Lotus Essential Daily Moisturizer has a nice texture and packs a SPF of 30! This will be my daytime moisturizer go-to for the sunny Texas summer months.

I think if I had a huge tub of the Live Botanical Skin Repair Balm…I would just jump right in it! The scent is heavenly, and this product has been doing wonders for my eczema.

The Seoul Mamas Revitalizing Mask is jam-packed with hyaluronic acid, the hero ingredient that leaves my skin feeling hydrated, bouncey, and super glowy.

3. BODY: DOMINICAN PERFUMES, MILK + HONEY, CLEAN COCONUT, BEK’S SOAP

When I smelled the many unique scents of Dominican Perfumes by Magdalena Maria, I knew I had finally found the niche fragrance brand I’ve been looking for. With their many options from body sprays, to colognes, to solid perfumes…they have something for everyone!

The Clean Coconut Lime Hydrating Body Mist will be a purse must-have this summer. I love how with a few sprays my skin feels instantly hydrated, cooled, and re-freshed.

Okay, why is it so hard to find a natural deodorant that actually works, smells good, and is easy to apply? This Milk + Honey Cream Deodorant definitely works, smells so good, but you have to apply it with your fingers. I’m getting used to the odd application, because the product is so good…it’s worth it!

This Bek’s Soap Co Lavender Bath Bomb is the perfect addition to my nighttime bath routine. The smell was totally relaxing, and it left my skin feeling soft and moisturized.

    Hi Krista,

I love your showcase and presentation of each brand!! I have never attended an indie expo and it looks like fun. Thank you for sharing these items with us! Fred and I are seriously looking and researching more about products that are cruelty free and toxic free for our skin and for our home.
