Holiday Gift Guide: Purchase With A Purpose




The holiday season is in full swing and if you’re like me, your shopping list and to do lists are LONG! However, lately I’ve really been thinking about ways to use my purchase power for good.

Anna Lappé said, “Every time you spend money, you’re casting a vote for the kind of world you want.” Whoa…think about THAT for a second.

1. Tribe Alive “Fringe Sphere” Necklace // $52

Tribe Alive utilizes a passion for fashion and responsible commerce as a platform to help alleviate poverty among women. They work with artisan partners all over the world to employ impoverished women at fair trade wages and give them access to a safe job, sustainable income, and a chance to determine their own future.

2. Giving Keys “Classic” Necklace // $42

The Giving Keys employs individuals transitioning out of homelessness, and in 2013 they began partnering with a non-profit organization called Chrysalis to help find more employees who were looking for a second chance. Chrysalis is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a pathway to self-sufficiency for homeless and low-income individuals by providing the resources and support needed to find and retain employment.
